"2001"-Dr. Dre

Imo, this is not as groundbreaking or as good as "The Chronic" but nevertheless a very dope album..The beats are definitley not as soul influenced as the ones previoulsy made on the 1st Chronic however they are still bananas..

"The Score"-Fugees

This album wouldn't seem like it'd be a classic..The Fugees' first album "Blunted On Reality" wasn't anything more than medicore and there are about 3 tracks on this album that are essentially cover songs. However, the entire vibe of this album is bananas and was a landmark hip-hop album of the mid 1990s..Lauryn Hill stands out on this album over the other memebers..

1. Red Intro

witches with dicks / the conversions split

this is a really good split from two really good punk bands. witches with dicks is a pop punk band with gruff vocals while the conversions are a female fronted hardcore band. the conversions remind me very much of witch hunt and witches with dicks(wizards?) remind me a lot of dillinger four. this is definetly worth a listen. if it was a bit longer (witches with dicks 2 songs, the conversions 3) it wouldve gotten 5 bannanas. (the two witches with dicks tracks later were released on a full length)http://www.mediafire.com/?53t1wt1xy2w

"On The Corner"-Miles Davis

This album is wild..Orginally it was rated poorly by critics because it was so different from all of Miles' other releases however it has gotten rave reviews as time has passed..He made this album gearing it more towards a younger audience interested in funk and rock at the time..Definitley wild listening to this then "Birth Of The Cool" or "Kind Of Blue".

"On the Corner / New York Girl / Thinkin' One Thing and Doin' Another / Vote for Miles" (19:55)
"Black Satin" (5:16)
"One and One" (6:09)
"Helen Butte / Mr. Freedom X" (23:18)
The 1993 CD reissue of On the Corner (which has the "Columbia Jazz Masterpieces" logo stamped on the front cover) separates each "composition" into a distinct track so that the album has 8 tracks rather than 4. Later reissues returned the songs to their original, conflated status.

"How You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul???"-Public Enemy

2007 is the twentieth aniversary of Public Enemy's debut..One of the most influential rap groups ever, they've gone under the radar for the past few years..This album is their best since the turn of the century and arguably since 1991..Not on the same level as their first four albums, yet it does not sound the same either..Their past few albums have sounded lame at times with dated beats however many of these beats are really unique..This is PE at their best since their prime.
standout tracks: "Harder Than You Think","Escapism","Flavor Man", "See Something,Say Something"

"The Chronic"-Dr. Dre

The Chronic is one of the best produced albums in the history of hip hop.. Every track has an amazing beat and the whole album is heavily influenced by '70s funk and soul records..Dre's rhymes aren't the strongest but the whole feel of the album can't be duplicated and it still holds up 15 years after its release. "ATLiens"-Outkast

This is OutKast's second album(1996) and is also one of their best..Their first album focused on many typical subjects in mainstream rap and pimping yet this one focuses on a lot of odd topics..Andre 3000 went a little nuts and stopped drinking, smoking, and having sex during this time period...He also had a lot of odd religious beliefs and started wearing a turbin(even on the cover of this album he is wearing one as a cartoon kik)..There are so many classic tracks on this.. My favorites are : ATLiens, Two Dope Boyz(In A Cadillac), and Elevators(Me & You) to name a few....Amazing shit right here..

"Aquemini"- Outkast

This album will take a few listens to really sink in but is truly a masterpiece..To me..this album defines the group..Their 3rd album, "Aquemini" is taken from both of the members zodiac signs (aquarius and gemini)..There is a good mix of guests on this album everyone from Raekwon,George Clinton, Cee-Lo, Erkyah Badu, Witchdoctor, and Slick Rick( a writer on "Da Art Of Storytellin' Part 1")..It somehow works perfectly..A lot of controversy came out of the song "Rosa Parks" in which they rap about how they were pushed to the back of the music industry because they were different much like Rosa Parks was told to sit in the back of the bus because of her skin color..The actual Rosa Parks heard the song and found it offensive because of all the profanity and because she wasn't asked if it was okay if they used her name as the title...5 mics in the source in 1998 at a time when rap was dominated by materialism..
The Source-
"Aquemini is a brilliant record.... It possesses an uncanny blend of sonic beauty, poignant lyricism and spirituality that compels without commanding. The record offers a rich blend of potent beats--tight snares, booming kicks and cool rimshots--and a diverse tapestry of various musical textures...."

Jets to Brazil - Orange Rhyming Dictionary

Hey guys, I'm back and here is one of my all time favorite albums. After Jawbreaker disbanded, Blake Schwarzenbach moved to NYC and began playing some tunes with a friend, Jeremey Chatelain. They then recruited Texas Is The Reason drummer Chris Daly to round out the band. This release is their first out of three, and in my opinion, their best. The lyrics don't compare to those in Jawbreaker, although they are just as heart-breaking and poetic. I hadn't listened to it in a while, and then a song came up on my iTunes shuffle and I was brought right back to when I first listened to this album. The music is, I'd say, less "punk" than Jawbreaker, but more technical and well-rounded. There are some good leads and the music molds well into the lyrics. In my opinion, the best songs are "Sea Anemone" (the lyrics are great), "Sweet Avenue" (aw, it's a love song!), "I Typed For Miles" (the best part is at the end when Blake screams "you keep fucking up my life!"), "Lemon Yellow Black" (a fun song overall), and "King Medicine" (everything just goes well together in this song). There is only one song under 4 minutes on this album, but you'll be wishing that every song was longer than it already is.

Click here, I hope it works!
