"Graduation"-Kanye West

The most hyped album of the year is a solid effort..This album doesn't have the "oh shit" factor, that some of the tracks on "College Dropout" had and it doesn't have the distinct beats of "Late Regisration" but it does have a unique feel onto itself..Its an album that grows on you and you can't listen to just once and judge..This album does have flaws on it though..Lil Wayne's verse on "Barry Bonds" is awful, which is odd since he is widely considered one of the top lyricists in the game yet gets out done by Kanye who isn't considered to be one of the top lyricists..Also "Homecoming" seems kinda corny and Chris Martin really disrupts the flow of the album and "Drunk And Hot Girls" is a filler..Kanye also crosses the line from being really creative with his lines to just being really corny("I'm like a fly Malcolm X/buy any jeans neccessary").. Nevertheless, there is plenty to praise on this.."Everything I Am","Stronger", "Can't Tell Me Nothing","Champion", and the Jay-Z ode/diss "Big Brother" will go down as some of the stronger tracks of his career..A solid album but not quite a classic.
4/5 Bananas
